CLAY TARGET
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

PRACTICE, PRACTICE AND COMPETE!

Clay target shooting at NT F&G is a simulated field environment where the targets are thrown to mimic the movements of game animals.  Variety and diversity is key to keeping our members and visitors interested in the sport of clay target shooting.

NT F&G have built a range that offers a little bit of everything and provides an environment where people can come out and have fun and benefit from the personal growth that comes from participating in any sport.

Clay target shooting is also a great way for hunters to keep their eye in during the off-season and a fantastic way to get family and friends involved in your passion without being out in the hunting reserves.

What is Clay Target?

Clay target practice is when we're able to practice shooting a firearm at special flying targets, known as clay pigeons or clay targets. The machines used to fire the targets are located at the club and allow us to both practice and compete each week before we take our skills out onto the field to hunt.

Bush Skeet

Our bush skeet layout is a great opportunity for new shooters to practice their left and right swinging targets.  Also a fantastic way to get your eye in for Goose season!

5 Stand

Five Stand provides five stations, or stands and six to eighteen strategically placed clay target throwers. Shooters take it in turns to shoot at various combinations of clay targets. Each station will have a menu card that lets the shooter know which trap the clay target will be coming from. After shooting at the 5 targets, the shooter moves on to the next stand where they find a new menu of 5 targets.

Manual Traps

Drop by the noms desk and grab a bucket (25 clays) or a basket (50 clays) and head down the lane to practice on the manual traps.  These traps are regularly used in our monthly competitions and a good way practice for shooting on the 5 stand.
